I have known Spencer’s amazing family for a while now. Spencer and I went to the same high school, and I played volleyball with his sister, so we were around each other quite a bit during the season. When Spencer and his (then fiance) asked to meet with me to discuss their upcoming wedding, I couldn’t have been more excited. Obviously for Spencer and Lily, but I was excited to be a part of this family, even if it was for a little while 🙂
You see, I tell all of my couples that at the end of your wedding day, we will feel like family. I will have seen most of your emotions (frustrated, worried, nervous, happy, sad, etc.) because that’s what happens on a wedding day. I am there with you when there’s an issue with the bridal gown missing a button, or when you’re frustrated with your mom because she isn’t quite ready for you to get in your dress yet. I am there celebrating every step of your wedding day with you, and I can promise, we will feel like family at the end. And, both Spencer and Lily’s family couldn’t have made me feel more at home than they did. They were great!
Spencer and Lily got married at the gorgeous St. Ambrose Cathedral in downtown Des Moines. When I walked in, I knew this church was going to make for some of the coolest photos! Be sure to check them out below. The details pop, the colors are amazing, and the texture of the image is just breathtaking!
After their ceremony, we walked over to the Marriott Hotel in downtown Des Moines where I walked into one of the most gorgeous receptions I have seen. From top to bottom, this place was stunning. Anybody could tell that every detail was thought out, planned perfectly, and a lot of time was spent on this wedding.
The cake was breathtaking, and created by the talented Little Blackbird Bakery (all vendors are linked below for you to view), the floral design was created by the talented Bella Flora, and the food provided by the Marriott was absolutely delicious!
I am so happy for Spencer and Lily and wish them a lifetime of complete happiness!
