Do you want to hear something kind of crazy? It’s not that crazy that I had never met the bride and groom until the wedding day … sometimes that happens, especially when they live out of state; but what is even crazier is that I had only known I was shooting this wedding a few months ago.
My friend and fellow photographer, Nicole Laing Photography was supposed to shoot this wedding back in May, but due to COVID, this sweet couple had to move their wedding date. Since Nicole was already booked on their alternate date, she asked if I could cover. I am so glad I did! I not only met some pretty amazing people at this wedding, but it was seriously the most amazing and beautiful wedding I have ever attended.
The wedding took place in Albia, Iowa, in the beautiful, St. Patrick’s Church. The reception was in the dining hall, and outdoors. The most beautiful tents were set up outside by the amazing Stuart Alexander, and Hans Wilz of Edd the Florist. You can tell that every detail was thought through, and Mary Pat + Eric’s vision was brought to life.
Along with the beautiful design, vibe, ambiance, and details of the reception tents, the guests got to eat the most delicious food by Jim + Charlie’s, followed by the best cake designed by Classy Sassy Cupcakes. The guests ended the night with full drinks in their hands and dancing along with The Diamond Empire Band.
Let’s not forget the stunning bridal gown, bridesmaid dresses, and menswear. My goodness…this was one good looking bridal party! And let’s not forget how absolutely stunning the floral designs were for this wedding. Hats off to Ed’s the Florist for all of that!
We took photos at the bride’s parent’s property between the ceremony and reception. Once the golden hour hit, we made sure to get some pretty amazing sunset photos for the bride + groom. I mean, have you ever seen anything as beautiful?
I am so grateful to have met all of the amazing people, especially the bride + groom. This family was beyond nice, sweet, and a lot fun! The wedding party was a lot of fun, too, and kept me on my toes 🙂
